Here is where I will put information about creative assignments that you can take on to contribute to the film. If you have any questions about this, feel free to email me.
You can also check out the Production Timeline page. There, I have outlined the entire production process from start to finish. Check it out to see what part of the process you are most interested in.
Currently, I’m working on the scene 3 storyboards. Although I will need help with all the items below, help with storyboarding and video editing would be the most helpful right now.
What are you interested in?
Storyboarding:
*needed right now!* With the scene 2 animatic finished, next I’m going to work on the scene 3 storyboards and animatic. You can work on the storyboards for scene 3, or any of the later storyboards.
Read the script. Select a scene from the script to storyboard. Make rough drawings of each shot in the scene, as you envision it.
Video Editing
When the storyboards for each scene are finished, they are edited together in Premiere. I could use help with that. I’ll provide the storyboards and we can share the Premiere files.
Comment here or email me if you are interested in video editing.
Design / Drawing / Painting
Before starting production, I want to lock down the look of the film. You can help with Visual Development of the film in the following ways:
Character Design:
Create drawings or paintings of the characters. They can be as polished or as rough as you like. See the Director’s Notes page for more info.
Background Design:
Create a drawing or painting of how you think the background design could look like. See the Director’s Notes page for more info.
Color Script:
Create a color script by making a small painting for each scene in the story. See the Director’s Notes page for more info.
Animating
We’re still in pre-production, so there’s not a lot of animating happening yet. Join the mailing list to keep yourself in the loop for when we need animation help.
Eventually, we’ll need help with:
- rough animation (key poses, breakdown poses and inbetween poses)
- clean up of the animation
- coloring
- compositing
I would like to make the animation work easier to share, so I don’t want to use software that no-one else has!
If you are interested in animation, comment or email me, and mention if you have any of the following pieces of software:
- Photoshop (or Gimp, Open Canvas, Paint Shop Pro, etc).
- Flash
- After Effects
- Premiere
- ToonBoom
FAQ:
Where do I send the artwork?
Email me at larkinheather@gmail.com, or send a link to website with the artwork on it.
What will you do with the artwork I give you?
My plan for now is to put any artwork you give on the Stripes blog, so that everyone can see it, and give comments.
