About Me

Goals

Ever since I was a little girl, my dream has been to use animation to tell great stories. Someday I’d like to have my own animation studio. Currently, I am working on an animated series called Kanook, which I plan to release online. I am constantly learning and improving my abilities as an artist and professional so that I can continue to reach my goals. I created this blog as a place to chart my professional growth and share some of the things I’ve discovered along the way.

Professional History

I graduated with a B.A. from Princeton University in 2006.

For five years, I worked at Princeton’s New Media Center, which houses the latest in digital imaging software, video editing and web development tools. I helped faculty and students learn how to use our equipment to fulfill their multimedia needs.

From August 2007-08, I taught English at two high schools in Japan through the JET Programme. I developed my own lesson plans and executed them in the classroom, teaching thirteen different classes of forty students each.

Over the past five years, I’ve been to Kenya four times in order to help with the Princeton Zebra Project (part of the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology). Besides collecting data in the field, I created two Flash programs: an online, interactive program that displays radio collar data; and a data entry program that allows for recording information in the field.

I am currently working on freelance web development projects and developing my own animated series.

Personal History

I am 26 years old. I was born in Queens, New York. I have a pet cockatiel named Pikachu.

This year I passed the second level of the Japanese Proficiency Test. I am currently studying for level one. I love Japan!

Aside from animation, I am also passionate about biology. I hope that my work fosters a positive attitude toward science and nature.
